About Me

Hey, I’m Ashley!

I am a landscape artist simply working to relate my deep love for the land with my passion to create. I am ever inspired by the visually stunning, emotionally significant experiences I have outside, and I aim to process and share these moments with others through my art. Why? It feels like the most genuine way for me to give back to the land that has already give me so much.

As a child and still today, I have been blessed to play in the Cascade mountains, scenic ocean sides, and dense forests of the Pacific Northwest. Following my move to California for school, I began to explore new landscapes through hiking, camping, rock climbing, and skiing. It was easy to love places like Yosemite NP, Tahoe, Redwood NP, and the eastern Sierra, but I found that the dusty Santa Ynez Mountains and high desert of Joshua Tree NP quietly took a place in my heart too.

The wilderness offers beautiful, raw, remarkable experiences. It extends wisdom about beauty and time, teaches on creation and destruction, and urges us to consider our place among the rest. It humbles and encourages, often in the same breath. It draws us in with the allure of adventure, or captures us with its beauty, but it keeps us returning for the way it meets the soul.

For me, mountainous, rocky landscapes evoke the strongest senses of awe, grandeur, or curiosity, so I focus most of my creative energy on them.

I will never be able to put the whole of an experience in the mountains in paint or writing, but I create in hopes that others might glimpse the deep life to be found outside. May the grandeur of the land be well loved by the artist’s attentive hand.
